Food Force 2, an open source sequel to the World Food Program’s popular Food Force game, is available to try out with complete art and storyboard. The game leads players through improving the health, shelter, education, and other elements of a small community. The waves Food Force 2 project has been emanating since its inception have reached out far and wide. Its Wiki Page can be reached here.
One of the ways this project has reached out to the users is by its School Visits. The team could comprehensively gauge the effectiveness and impact on the users of the game. This game has a set of driving principles which were testified by the responses and outcome of the sessions in different schools.

- This game has been used as a classroom activity in an Australian school. Some students shared their experience and reviewed the game here.
- Food Force 2 has been developed using Pygame. It is one of the showcased games on the Pygame's website. Pygame is a set of Python modules designed for writing games. Pygame is highly portable and runs on nearly every platform and operating system. Read more about pygames here.
- Food Force 2 team is using Wingware Python IDE for developing projects in Python.
- Sugar is a learning platform, an award-winning platform, which promotes collaborative learning through Sugar Activities that encourage critical thinking, the heart of a quality education. Designed from the ground up especially for children, Sugar offers an alternative to traditional “office-desktop” software. Originally developed for the One Laptop per Child XO-1 netbook, Sugar runs on most computers. Sugar is free and open-source software.Learner applications in Sugar are called Activities. They are software packages that automatically save your work producing instances of the Activity that can be resumed at a later time.Food Force 2 is pretty popular in the Sugar Activities circle with rapidly increasing download hits everyday. This project has been indicated in the Sugar Activities wiki page
- Food Force 2 has won accolades in technical festivals of colleges like Delhi College of Engineering, Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology, in New Delhi. It also featured in Envision.
- Food Force 2 also makes its presence felt in the developers networks and communities, an example of which can be seen in the following links indicated.
